Earning your CAM (Certified Apartment Manager) credential allows you to demonstrate your skills, knowledge, and ability to manage an apartment community and achieve owners’ investment goals.

The Certified Apartment Manager (CAM) is a vital link between the resident and the community owners and investors. Earning your CAM credential gives you the knowledge to increase your community’s net operating income. Whether you’re new to apartment management or a long-time property manager, you’ll enhance your skills, knowledge, and ability to effectively manage an apartment community and achieve its owners’ investment goals.

  • Financial Management

  • Legal and Risk Management
  • Human Resources
  • Resident Experience
Details:
  • Time: 9:00 am to 5:00 pm for 5 days
  • Cost: $1,100 Member, $1,300 Non-Member 
  • CEC: 6 hours per course
  • Audience: Managers, experienced Assistant Managers
  • Pre-Requisite: You must have worked in the apartment industry for at least 12 months
  • Completion Requires: Eight courses listed and all examination requirements met within 6 months of declaring candidacy.
  • Candidacy Period: 6 months
  • Extensions: 2 extensions; 6 months each; fee $75
  • Exam: 185 questions; 4 hours; $100 retake fee
  • Renewal: Annual; fee $100; 8 CECs; $50 reinstatement fee
2023 Class Dates:
  • November 7th, 8th, 9th, 14th & 15th

    This is a 5 day course and all five days must be completed to take the final exam.

Class Begins at 9:00am each Day and Ends at 5:00pm

To obtain CAM you will need to:

  • obtain or present evidence of the required one year of onsite management experience
  • enroll in CAM on the NAA website
  • take the CAM modules that are not included 
  • take and pass the CAM exam.

To Renew Your Credential
The CAM credential requires annual renewal based on the anniversary date of completion. Submission of both annual CAM dues of $100 and documentation of eight hours of continuing education credits should be submitted to complete the annual CAM renewal.
