Professional Bio
A Columbus naïve, and an active member of the Columbus Apartment Association since 1995. My very first job in multifamily started with The Woodruff Company at Hamilton Station, now called The Palms, under Mr. George C. Woodruff, Jr. I leased at all of the properties for Mr. Woodruff, and find out quickly how versatile I had become and was comfortable at any location, in any type of environment and I truly wanted to help people find the right home. At that moment, I knew I loved the industry. I moved a few times and worked for several management companies between 1997 and 2004 over the years. I took on anything thrown at me... Leasing, Trainer, Support Manager, Executive Assistant, Marketing Specialist, Human resources, accounting... you name it, I wanted to do it. Anything from ordering lunch for an owners meeting to operating a million budget for refurbishing and renovating. I spent most years with Greystone Properties and later for a locally owned apartment directory on the vendor side. Always involved with community outreach and volunteering, I served the association as a board member, property management director, associate director, office of secretary, treasurer and vice president. In 2004, as a widowed mother, I came in as the association the Executive Director. Planning, organizing and maintaining for the association was perfect. My experiences and love for the industry lead me to some amazing friendships over the years from across the world and many have become lifelong friends. If you love people, serving the public and wish to grow as a person and experience all aspects of hospitality, customer service and managing, the multifamily industry is an exciting and fulfilling career. I am in my 28th year and I cannot imagine doing anything else. My door is always open and I would love to help anyone thinking about jumping into this industry.
