Ongoing education is just one of the ways that GCAA is dedicated to keeping members informed with the latest educational materials. Whether you’re getting certified through a professional course or just brushing up at a seminar, staying current on the ever-changing apartment industry is vital to your success.

We offer classes and workshop throughout the year that provide information from leasing, marketing, and maintenance to fair housing and legal. Most classes allow for Continuing Education Credits for NAA Credentials. Instruction comes from local specialists, governmental entities, and nationally recognized professionals.

CERTIFIED POOL OPERATOR, CPO

Through the National Swimming Pool Foundation, Chadwell Supply is an approved provider of the CPO certification. This is a 2-day course which includes the certification exam.

EPA 608 REFRIGERANT HANDLING CERTIFICATION

The Federal Clean Air Act, Section 608, requires that persons who service air conditioning and refrigeration systems containing certain refrigerants be certified under a Federal Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) approved course. Through the ESCO Institute, Chadwell Supply is able to offer this Universal Certification. This is a 1-day course which includes the certification exam.

Designation Programs

GCAA’s Education programs promote industry professionalism designed for all apartment personnel. Designation programs demand intensive training and cover all aspects of rental housing management. Over the years, GCAA has trained hundreds of individuals in the rental housing industry.

Certified Apartment Manager (CAM) 

The Certified Apartment Manager (CAM) is a vital link between the resident and the community owners and investors. Earning your CAM credential gives you the knowledge to increase your community’s net operating income. Whether you’re new to apartment management or a long-time property manager, you’ll enhance your skills, knowledge, and ability to effectively manage an apartment community and achieve its owners’ investment goals.

  • Completion Requires: Eight courses listed (which total 55 ½ hours) and all examination requirements met within 6 months of declaring candidacy.

  • Extensions: 2 extensions; 6 months each; fee $75
  • Exam: 185 questions; 4 hours; $100 retake fee
  • Renewal: Annual; fee $100; 6 CECs; $50 reinstatement fee

Certified Apartment Leasing Professional (CALP)

Leasing professionals are the first people prospective residents meet, and often their only gauge of the property staff. This course is designed to teach these professionals skills to help them become top producers. The CALP class covers all aspects of the leasing process. You will enhance your qualifying, demonstrating, and closing skills and learn how to turn your prospects into residents.

  • Exam: 120 questions; 2 hours; $50 retake fee
  • Renewal: Annual; fee $50; 3 CECs; $50 reinstatement fee
